OUR MISSION

Ending HIV starts
with access

Healthvana is working toward a future where everyone can get the prevention care they need, no matter who they are, where they live, or whether they are insured.
HIV is one of the most expensive and preventable chronic conditions in the United States, with a projected cost of one trillion dollars over the next decade. Yet too many people still face stigma, fear, or simple lack of access when trying to protect their health.

We believe prevention should be easy to start and easy to stay on. Our one-to-one model makes this possible by connecting every insured PrEP patient with someone who cannot afford care. It is a simple structure with real impact, creating more access in the communities that need it most.

National Reach

Bringing prevention to people across all 50 states

Our telehealth service reaches people who have historically been left out of prevention efforts, including those without insurance, people assigned female at birth, and communities with limited or no local sexual-health resources. With everything handled online, distance and cost become less of a barrier. Care becomes possible for people who could not get it before.
What We’re Improving

More people starting, staying on, and returning to care

Our approach blends clinical support with patient-centered design and helpful AI guidance, which gives people the structure they need to stay consistent. The result is more people protected for longer periods of time.
Higher PrEP initiation rates
More people successfully begin PrEP because the visit is online, fast, and free for most patients. Simple steps lower barriers that traditionally keep people from starting medication.
Stronger PrEP persistence
Patients stay on PrEP longer with support from reminders, follow up messages and a care team that checks in when needed. Consistent guidance helps reduce missed refills and long gaps in use.
Faster linkage to care after testing
When someone tests positive or needs follow up, they are connected to the right care quickly. Results arrive directly to their phone with clear instructions, reducing the time between testing and treatment.
Better return visit rates
Patients are more likely to come back for regular labs, follow ups and refills because everything happens online and appointments are easy to complete. Convenience increases long term engagement.
Clearer steps that reduce drop off
Each stage of care is explained with simple instructions so patients always know what happens next. Clear guidance lowers confusion and keeps more people moving through the full care process.
Evidence-Based Outcomes
Proven results in
communities often left out of care
Our approach is grounded in real-world data from large public-health programs and national research. These studies highlight how fast access, clear communication, and supportive technology can improve care for people who face the biggest barriers.
Faster antiviral access in high-priority communities
In partnership with Los Angeles County, 1 in 15 COVID-positive patients from priority communities received antivirals through telehealth, often within an average of just 6.25 hours.
Faster STI treatment
Patients using Healthvana returned for STI treatment 2 days faster, according to research published in the American Journal of Public Health.
Improved HIV care engagement
HIV-positive patients using Healthvana were 7.4 times more likely to return for their next appointment, based on data from 40,000 patients across 15 states.
Innovation

Using technology to remove barriers

Our work includes research collaborations with Stanford University on how AI-supported communication can improve PrEP initiation and persistence. We are also exploring watch-based adherence tools and other digital methods that help people stay on track without adding stress. These innovations help us reach people faster and keep them connected to care over time.
National Work

Part of the movement to end HIV across the country

Healthvana participates in the U.S. Business Alliance to End HIV and collaborates with partners aligned with the White House Office of National AIDS Policy. We contribute comments and insights to national advisory groups like PACHA and support coalitions working to expand access for underserved communities.
